The position of Sr. Media Buyer, Podcast is to both execute as well as supervise negotiations, planning, buying, and maintaining media buys for all client(s) within their buying team. This role requires to work as part of an integrated team and is responsible for the training and supervision of Assistant Media Buyer(s) in the group. Alongside the Media Supervisor, this position is continuously developing and creating media strategies based on client objectives and ensures these strategies are well executed. The Sr. Media Buyer, Podcast must have the ability to manage multiple projects, think strategically, communicate effectively, be deadline-driven and have strong negotiation skills.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Takes the lead role on planning and buying for all assigned accounts
• Oversees rates and CPM negotiations for all assigned accounts
• Collaborates daily with team to ensure group participation
• Delegates tasks and responsibilities to team and ensures completion
• Ensures that all buying deadlines have been met and procedures/policies are maintained
• Oversees account maintenance, reporting and posting for all assigned accounts
• Evaluates new media opportunities and develops POV on key opportunities
• Provides accurate network information for proposal templates and guides Assistant Media Buyers on completion of data entry
• Works with the account services department to continuously, develop, monitor and adjust media schedules based on performance feedback from the client(s) and the analytics department
• Along with client objectives, utilizes media research tools and resources to aid in campaign development and optimization when making recommendations for media buys
• Begins to take an active role in client calls when relevant
• Develops and maintains media partner relationships
• Trains, mentors, and supervises Media Buyer(s) and Assistant Media Buyer(s)
• Tracks the market for trends, opportunities, etc. and uses this information to make recommendations on what is best for the client
• Follows all company health and safety procedures
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned

Supervisory responsibilities

Communicates effectively with all levels of employees as the position conveys directives from Senior Management as well as requests from subordinates to Senior Management. Sets an example for the department and contributes towards the overall betterment of the company by following the guidelines set forth by Ocean Media. Acts with a level of maturity and professionalism in their dealings and interactions with management, other employees and network reps and managers.

Education and Experience

Education

Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) required

Experience

3-5 years related experience required

Compensation Range: $70,000-$80k/year. This is the pay range Ocean Media reasonably expects it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on level of experience, relevant skills, professional certifications, market pay, and demand for the role. Ocean Media reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
