Description:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated counselors to join LGTC's eating disorder residential facility in San Jose. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to our adolescent (12-17 year old) clients on their journey to recovery. We have full-time, part-time, and on-call positions available. We can offer AM shifts (7:00AM-3:30PM) and PM shifts (3-11:30PM). The ability to work one weekend day is required and we are looking for applicants who can commit to a set schedule for at least six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all clients
- Lead therapeutic groups for clients
- Sit meals and snacks with clients to provide support and model appropriate eating behaviors
- Prep meals and snacks, follow proper food hygiene protocols
- Cleaning as needed
- Crisis de-escalation and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Ability to work independently
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all clients
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (psychology, sociology, social work, or other relevant fields preferred)
- Experience working with adolescents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Typing and documentation proficiency
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Ability to work a weekend day on a weekly basis
Desired Qualifications:
- Background in residential treatment centers
- Spanish proficiency
- Experience in counseling or working with individuals with different mental health disorders
- Knowledge of eating disorders
- CPR/BLS certification
Skills:
