Provides direct support for clinical services, preventive health (family planning/STD/ HIV), women infants children (WIC), immunizations, and medical records. Serves as receptionist and helps with other areas as needed and/or assigned.

Meets, interviews, and directs public health clients. Greets patients promptly, professionally, and courteously. Obtains appropriate information and screens for eligibility following program guideline, federal, state, and local policies and procedures. Provides appropriate and accurate information needed by patients for participation in the WIC program. Issues food instruments per program policies and procedures. Processes unissued food instruments and other reporting requirements accurately and in a timely manner according to program standards. Assists in maintaining the formula logbook.
Provides administrative support for clinic services including preventive health (family planning/STD/HIV) and the immunization program. Interviews clients updating information in demographics in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and medical record. Answers the telephone and schedules appointments as needed. Screens and updates eligibility based on program requirements/guidelines.
Greets the public and serves as clerk for the front desk/records area. Maintains current knowledge of records management to include electronic records in accordance with program/region and comprehensive health records manual policies and procedures. Serves as the primary to the mailroom for the health department. Performs a variety of assigned office duties to other program areas including but not limited to mailing patient notifications, and schedules patients for appointments. Ensures clinic is adequately supplied with necessary forms/supplies.
This position is headquartered at the Myrtle Beach Health Department (Horry County)
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional Requirements: Two (2) years' experience in a responsible office setting or an associate degree in secretarial science or related field and one (1) year experience in a responsible office setting.
