We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Visual Arts teacher to join our exciting team of educators serving students in TK through 8th grade. Our district is home to a thriving and collaborative community of arts educators who are supported by strong district leadership and an engaged parent community. For over a decade, we’ve proudly offered a robust elementary art and music program, and with the support of Prop 28, we are now expanding our arts offerings. This is a full-time teaching position with access to ongoing support, art-specific professional development, and coaching opportunities. Job Summary: Twin Rivers Unified School District seeks a passionate and dedicated Elementary Art Teacher committed to fostering creativity and artistic expression among our diverse student population. This position involves delivering high-quality art education consistent with district goals, site-specific objectives, and student developmental needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and evaluate a comprehensive art instructional program aligned with district goals and student needs.
  • Create a positive and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning and artistic creativity.
  • Support and enforce district discipline policies to maintain effective classroom management.
  • Assess and respond to the diverse educational, social, emotional, and health needs of students.
  • Actively participate in curricular and extracurricular activities, assessments, and curriculum development processes.
  • Collaborate regularly with colleagues, administrators, and parents to communicate student progress and address student needs.
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans, including substitute plans as needed.
  • Engage in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) processes and other assessment responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with district guidelines.
  • Represent the school positively in district-wide events and activities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Single Subject Art credential with English Language Learner authorization, or a Multiple Subjects credential with Supplemental Authorization in Introductory Art.
  • Knowledge of best practices in teaching, educational theories, classroom management, and student assessment.
  • Strong adaptability to diverse student learning styles and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct.
  • Ability to effectively support the holistic development of students.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform instructional activities involving standing, walking, and other physical movements.
  • Effective communication skills for delivering lessons and interacting with students and staff.
  • Visual acuity required for instructional material preparation and student assessment.
  • Manual dexterity to manage classroom supplies and operate technology.

Education & Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Valid California Single Subject Art Credential with English Learner authorization, OR
  • Valid California Multiple Subjects Credential with Supplemental Authorization in Introductory Art and English Learner authorization.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Annual Salary: $63,947 - $124,659, depending on experience and educational background.
  • Additional stipends: $2,000 Master's Degree, $2,000 Doctorate Degree.
  • $4,500 Hiring Bonus Incentive. Final salary placement determined upon verification of official sealed transcripts and prior teaching experience.
