Springer Nature is recruiting a Chief Editor for a new Nature Reviews journal – Nature Reviews Computing – launching January 2027. The journal will publish narrative-style Reviews, News and Opinion on computer science, computing applications, and emerging computing modalities such as quantum and neuromorphic computing. Role and Responsibilities Recruit, train and lead a skilled editorial team. Develop the editorial vision, strategy and content for the journal. Work closely with the editorial team on all aspects of the editorial process, including commissioning, manuscript editing and writing for the journal. Interact with the research community, attend international conferences and organize site visits as appropriate. Qualifications A PhD in a relevant field with a strong research background and connections to target research communities. Previous editorial experience; line management experience is beneficial. Broad knowledge of topics covered by the journal. Excellent literary and verbal communication skills. A commitment to effective scientific communication and understanding of the Nature Reviews ethos. Outstanding leadership qualities and a positive attitude to change. Innovative and creative ideas for the journal's future development.
